How a Hot Towel Shave Goes
- Consultation. Your barber checks the grain of your beard and how your skin takes a blade.
- Pre-shave oil. Worked in to soften the hair and protect the skin.
- Hot towel. Wrapped on to open the pores and lift the beard.
- Warm lather. Brushed on in layers.
- Straight razor. The shave itself.
- Cool towel. To close the pores and settle the skin.
- Aftershave and moisturizer. The finish, so you leave comfortable rather than raw.
Start to finish, about 45 minutes.
Booking a Shave
A shave is a longer appointment than a haircut. Three quarters of an hour goes by between the first hot towel and the aftershave, and none of it is the part you want hurried, so it is worth holding a time rather than hoping a chair is free when you arrive.
If you want the cut as well, the Haircut & Hot Towel Shave is $62 and covers both in the one appointment.

A straight razor takes the hair off closer to the skin than a cartridge does. How often you come back is a matter of how you like to look rather than a rule anyone can set for you.
If you keep a beard rather than going clean, there are two ways to hold its shape on the menu: a Beard Trim at $30, or a Beard Shape-Up at $17, which lines the edges without the razor.

Where do I park, and how can I pay?
Parking outside the shop is free. Cash and cards are both fine, and card and mobile payments go through Square.
Can I walk in for a shave?
Walk-ins are welcome. A shave takes the better part of an hour, so booking online is the surest way to get the time you want.
